Karate School on St. Charles Ave. in New Orleans, LA

The Jewish Community Center hosts New Orleans Shotokan Academy students on Tuesday and Thursday evenings with Dimitri Papadopoulos serving as the instructor. This karate school class is specifically designed for children who are interested in learning the traditional Japanese martial art of self-defense.


The Teachings


Shotokan karate focuses on memorization, self-control, and discipline. Students will develop physically as well through exercises in strength, coordination, and flexibility. Strikes, blocks, takedowns, and kicks are a part of the curriculum, with every aspect of the class.

$85 per month for JCC members

$95 per month for non-members
